How to wear sunglasses indoors

Psst

There are outfit examples and where to get the right sunglasses at the bottom of this page.

What's the difference between styling and wearing? You may argue it is the intention of your outfit. Whether you're looking for visual harmony or just putting clothes on. This is mostly true, but how do you do it?

How do you go from wearing clothes to styling an outfit? You may already be doing this without even knowing it. The single most powerful visual element you can add to an otherwise boring outfit.

The answer is accessories.

For example, a very simple outfit, black t-shirt and jeans, can look dramatically different with the right watch.

The trick is doing it quietly. In fashion, effort kills admiration. That is what the sprezzatura aesthetic is all about. Quiet and effortless. But how are "effortless" and "styling" compatible?

In fashion, effort kills admiration.

Think about it. What is more effortless than a pair of sunglasses you can wear all day, indoors and outdoors? What is more carefree than not worrying about how bright your environment is?

I don't know the answer to that, and neither do the most fashionable men I know (not in person). Here are some examples of their outfits.

Pay attention to their eyes, it will be important later:

Notice their eyes? The fact that you can see them says it all.

To wear sunglasses indoors, your eyes should be visible.

Unless you're in The Matrix, of course.

Where to get them

My favorite all-day sunglasses are a pair of Mountaks. You can't go wrong with them because that's all they sell: indoor and outdoor sunglasses. Great quality and timeless designs.

Other brands sell them but they're often too expensive or not the right tint. Not to mention how hard they are to find.
